A government senator has rejected the public defender's accounts of the inhumane conditions of detention centres being used as part of the country's enhanced security measures. Do you believe that detainees should be allowed to go before a parliamentary committee to detail their experiences? #GLNRTalk #TalkbackTuesday

@Ja4jamaicaJames: Yes, they should appear and give truthful testimony. Jamaicans cannot continue to bury their head in the sand and live in denial.

@StaceyNeema: YES! Detainees SHOULD be allowed to detail their experiences but under confidential cover ... otherwise dog nyam dem (detainees) suppa!

Dalemignott1: No. Never. The persons who are going to testify will make it political. Imagine the amount of damage one uninformed detainee can do to this noble cause.

@iammarkodean: Absolutely! Who feels it knows it. If there is nothing to hide, then there is nothing to fear.

@kamlanichkole: Yes. Detainees should tell what happened to them since the Government is discrediting the public defender.

warndem: Would be good but unnecessary. Look at our schools, hospitals and police stations, and you will know that the public defender is truthful.

awshann: The public need to know exactly what took place. The JLP and the police rejected the public defender's report, so we must hear the detainees' account of what took place .
