WISDOM OF THE WEEK

Destress your mind, live in peace

Published:Sunday | August 20, 2023 | 12:07 AM

Stress has become a part of everyday life, therefore, we started considering it to be normal. For children, stress is in studying; for work professionals, stress is at work; for old age people, stress is in maintaining health; for sports people, playing has also become stress.

Spouses see each other as stress at times, so do parents, for whom children are stress; for managers their subordinates are stress; for the poor, lack of money is stress and for the wealthy, taking care for money is stress. After all, we can see that all spheres of life now are experiencing stress in different stages and in different ways, but why? It was not the case 100 years ago.

The sad truth is when children experience stress from a very early age. We used to say ‘The best stage of life is of a child’. What did we lose in the process of growth and development or what changes are needed to bring that easiness and live a happy life again? There is no doubt something needs to be changed within that can restore our innate happiness and peace but what is that change or how to bring that change?

MEDITATION

Mediation is the easiest tool to include in your everyday life which can change the entire inner world. The outer world is just a reflection of our inner world. Be it stress or any negative emotion you are holding, be it physical health or mental health, be it your unpleasant present or worry of the future, be it yourself or your family, be it employer or employees. Easy meditation techniques, if included in lifestyle, it can bring miraculous changes in one’s individual life and surroundings.
