Dark to Light

When the night thinks I’m sleeping

My mind and the darkness are reasoning

The stars are listening

While the moon comforts me.

Night creatures cry with me

The silence I drink;

It poisons my airway-

Overheats my brain

When silence becomes suicide

The darkness hushes me off

I lay in space;

My eyelids closing,

I find an escape.

Drifting then awaken to the sounds-

Sounds of nature

The birds tell me.

Darkness had to go to work

So he left the light to love me

My gentleman

When the day thinks I’m awake

My mind and the light are reasoning-

Reasoning about my reality.

– Annastaica Pitter

Deus lux est (God is Light)

God is Light, dispelling the darkness,

God is Light, revealing all things.

Uncreated, yet creating

mor’ning, eve’ning, moon and stars.

Guiding stars, sun on their courses,

Rays of love that never fades.

God is Light, dispelling the darkness,

Piercing night with mercy’s call.

Jesus Christ, the world’s true Light to

all the angel hosts above;

bow in worship, singing Your glory!

Love eternal radiant Lord.

Father, Spirit, God we praise You, with our songs of grateful praise.

Jesus Christ, the world’s true Light, shines through all eternity.

– Dudley McLean II

Autumn Break

The lofty leaves stood weightless

in the winery morning gales

as the petal hearts of sages

set fire to your gaze.

And afore the lament moon grew dull

the orb was overshadowed

with a colony of herring gulls

Then the morning plains turns gold

as countless rays pierce the forest floors

in the burning colour woods.

– Darval Duckoo
