Noranda Bauxite and Noranda Alumina, affiliated companies in the bauxite mining and alumina refining industries in the United States and Jamaica, have announced the appointment of their team of chief officers.

New Day Aluminium LLC, an affiliate of DADA Holdings LLC, was selected last year as the winning bidder for the Gramercy, Louisiana and bauxite mining operation in St. Ann.

According to a joint release, David D’Addario has been appointed chairman and chief executive officer of both companies. He brings to Noranda 30 years of leadership in the metals industry, most recently as chairman and chief executive officer of aluminium can sheet producer Wise Metals Group.

He has also held senior positions in national and international recycling businesses, including NEROC, TOMRA and Wise Recycling, the release said.

D’Addario spent much of the past 15 years leading Wise Metals through challenging times to resounding success, ultimately transforming the company into the world’s third largest producer of can stock for the beverage industry, with sales of more than £1 billion of product per year.

Thomas Robb, the chief operating officer of both companies, is a veteran of more than 12 years in the aluminium industry.

Most recently, he served as chief executive officer of Wise Recycling. He also spent a number of years at Wise Metals, where he was its executive vice president of Strategy and Development.

Monte Schaefer, chief financial officer of both companies, brings more than 20 years of corporate finance experience to Noranda.

Robert Ericson, chief legal officer of both companies, joins Noranda from Wise Metals where he served as its executive vice president and general counsel.

Anthony Laura is the chief administrative officer and general counsel of both companies.

In announcing the appointments, D'Addario, who also is managing partner of DADA Holdings, said "this senior executive team has a proven track record of success and innovation,” and “are committed to working with our talent in Gramercy and
St. Ann to chart a profitable and sustainable course for our integrated bauxite and alumina companies."

DADA Holdings is an investment and management company based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It makes control investments and manages companies in basic industries such as metals and mining.

The partners of DADA acquired the alumina refining and Jamaican bauxite mining assets formerly owned by Noranda Inc. in late 2016.
