LASCO distributors to discontinue some arrangements with Unilver

LASCO Distributors Limited said that in its continued drive to improve efficiencies and reduce overall operating costs it will discontinue its distribution arrangement for the Unilever cold storage and dry food portfolio, effective Wednesday, December 27, 2017.
“LASCO will continue to distribute the Unilever home and personal care range of products, which includes major brands such as Breeze, Comfort, Dove and Axe,” the company said in a release today.
“LASCO and Unilever made the decision to consolidate operations respectively in order to reduce costs and improve logistics,” explained Peter Mark Chin, Managing Director, LASCO Distributors Limited.
“This was a strategic decision based on determining the best product mix for the company,” he added.
LASCO said it has just completed a 100,000 square-foot warehouse expansion project at its White Marl, St. Catherine facility and made several upgrades to its information technology platform, consistent with overall drive to improve efficiencies and service delivery.
