SAS tax advisory joins Andersen network
Tax advisory and accounting firm Senior Accounting Services Limited, SAS, has joined the Andersen Global network.
SAS is a four-year-old firm founded and managed by Serika Sterling. The small operation is manned by five professionals.
“Andersen Global strengthens our growing tax practice as we continue to provide our clients with independent, seamless service globally,” said Sterling in a joint statement announcing the collaboration agreement.
“We look forward to establishing synergistic relationships with the organisation’s like-minded individuals,” she said.
Andersen said the addition of Sterling’s firm to its network advances its goal of becoming the market leader in the Caribbean region. The firm is present in 200 locations worldwide and has more than 6,000 professionals in its network.
“Since we entered the Caribbean market, our organisation has made systematic progress to gain broad regional coverage,” Andersen Global Chairman and Andersen CEO Mark Vorsatz said in the statement. “Our collaboration with Senior Accounting Services continues Andersen Global’s momentum in pursuing our goals to become the dominant service provider in the region.”
New BIGEE grant fund
Development Bank of Jamaica has launched an Innovation Grant Fund, to support ventures that promote productivity through innovation in the micro, small and medium-sized enterprises sector.
Applicants are eligible for up to $14 million of grant support. To qualify they must have been in operation for at least seven years, have a governance structure in place, that is, a board of directors, and generate annual revenue between $75 million and $150 million, DBJ said in a release.
The new product launched on Monday is especially meant to assist companies cope with impacts of the COVID-19 coronavirus. It falls under the development bank’s Boosting Innovation Growth and Entrepreneurship Ecosystem – the BIGEE initiative.
“The projects that are eligible for grants under the Innovation Fund must be innovative and will receive assistance for technology assessments, prototyping, inputs and machinery, product upgrading, production of samples for market testing, specialised technical assistance, intellectual property or industrial property protection, and equipment purchase and maintenance, among several other areas,” said DBJ General Manager of Strategic Services Christopher Brown.
