Martin tapped for separated NCB retail banking unit

National Commercial Bank Jamaica, NCB, has split its Corporate, Commercial and Consumer Banking Division into two units, one of which will be run by returnee Sheree Martin.
Effective April 12, Martin, who rejoined the bank in 2020 after several years working at power utility Jamaica Public Service Company, assumes leadership of the Retail Banking Division, or consumer unit which, parent company NCB Financial Group said in a press release, will be responsible for the “consumer banking portfolio, small and medium enterprise clients and customer experience”.
Brian Boothe, who headed the division as senior manager prior to its split, will continue to head up the other unit – the Corporate and Commercial Division.
The two divisions previously operated as separate units until they were conjoined by NCB two years ago, on April 5, 2019, under Boothe’s leadership. Up to that point he was the head of retail banking.
In November 2013, Martin, then a general manager in charge of customer experience and innovation, separated from the bank. Nearly seven years later, NCB Financial announced her return and appointment as general manager in charge of customer experience and organisational health at the commercial banking subsidiary, effective July 13, 2020.
With Martin’s shift to retail banking nine months later, her organisational health portfolio has been transferred to the Group HR and Facilities Division.
