The National Commercial Bank (NCB) indicates that it is test-driving a new remote banking service at two new locations established in the Corporate Area and Portmore, St Catherine.

The bank says that there is a possibility of expanding the service to additional parishes in the new year.

On Wednesday, December 13, the bank said through its communications department that it has launched “remote service centres” at Portmore and Waterloo MegaMart locations.

“This initiative, available on weekends during the holiday season, will extend until January 28, 2024, offering enhanced banking convenience to customers,” it outlined.

Customers will secure remote help via the new stations with cashless services, including RSA token, support for online and mobile banking, and loan assistance.

The investment cost was not shared.

Sheree Martin, executive vice-president, Retail Banking Division, stated: “This initiative is designed to meet the needs of our customers, especially during the busy holiday period. The aim is to provide accessible banking services during the weekends, essentially to meet customers where they are, which, in many instances, is in the grocery store.”

Since start-up, the bank reported over 400 customers have used the outlets, “helping them access new accounts and fulfill service requests related to online banking and cards”.

The bank indicates that it is “actively exploring the possibility of extending this service to two additional locations in Mandeville and Montego Bay, starting in early January”.
