Managing director of the Trinidad-based West Indian Tobacco Company, Raoul Glynn, has been placed on administrative leave with pay, pending an internal investigation.

A report in the Trinidad Guardian says the action is with effect from June 24, based on a notice on the website of the Trinidad and Tobago Securities and Exchange Commission.

The Guardian report did not state the nature of the investigation by the tobacco company.

Glynn, who is a Trinidadian, was managing director of Jamaican tobacco company Carreras up to September 2022 and was credited for steering the company through the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
