Police in Trinidad are searching for thieves who stole a quantity of cash and household appliances from the Gender, Youth and Child Development minister, Clifton De Coteau as he slept at his brother’s house over the weekend.

The Police say a television set, kitchen utensils and cash were stolen at the house in Prince Town on Saturday night.

De Coteau told police he had secured the house before going to sleep and when he awoke on Sunday morning he found the house ransacked.

He said he forgot the keys to the burglar-proofed door in the lock.

The minister says he will be installing alarms and surveillance cameras as precautionary measures.
