Grenada shaken by 4.1 earthquake

ST GEORGE’S, Grenada, CMC – An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.1 rocked parts of Grenada on Wednesday night, but there were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.

The Trinidad-based Seismic Research Centre at the University of the West Indies said that the quake occurred at 8:22 p.m local time and was felt east of Grenada.

It said that the quake was located at 12.09° north and 61.21° west and at a depth of 82 km.

The centre said that Wednesday night’s quake is the second to hit the Windward Islands chain after tremor measuring 3.8 was reportedly felt in Dominica on Monday.

It said that that quake, which was located at 15.30° north and 61.32° west, was located at a depth of 17 km.
