Belize warns of fake Tylenol in circulation

BELMOPAN, Belize, CMC – Health authorities in Belize say they have discovered falsified Tylenol at various supermarkets across the country and are urging the population to be wary of the situation.

In a statement, the Ministry of Health & Wellness said it has started an investigation and removal of all products found countrywide.

“The falsified product identified bears batch number GS13790 with an expiration date of 03/24. The public is advised to become familiar with the presentation of this medication.”

The ministry is advising people to avoid purchasing and consuming this falsified medicine to safeguard their health as well as obtain medications only from distributors or health facilities with valid licences from it.

The health ministry said it is requesting the cooperation of all merchants and wholesalers who currently have this medication in stock to contact them so as to arrange the removal of the product.

The ministry gave no indication as to how the falsified Tylenol made its way into the country.
