Trinidad rocked by another strong earthquake

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 rocked Trinidad and Tobago on Monday night.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

The Seismic Research Centre at the St Augustine campus of the University of the West Indies (UWI) said the quake, the second in the last three days, occurred at 10:18 (local time) while many people were attending various activities as the Carnival celebrations continue.

Many people took to social media to report feeling the quake, while others said they were unaware until they were told by friends.

The SRC said that the quake was located at latitude 11.01N and Longitude: 62.06W with at a depth of 32 km.

It was felt in sections of the country.

The SRC said that Monday's quake had the same intensity of 5.2 as the one recorded on Saturday afternoon, which was at a depth of 54 km.
