American Airlines is expanding its winter schedule with eight new routes to Latin America and the Caribbean, the carrier has said.

The new routes include a Saturday service from Charlotte International Airport to St Vincent and the Grenadines and weekly flights from JFK in New York to St Lucia, St. Maarten and St Vincent and the Grenadines, all starting December 7.

Additionally, AA will have a new Saturday service from Philadelphia to Barbados from November 9, and to Liberia, Costa Rica from December 7.

“We are excited to continue growing our network to the region with more flights this winter to the Caribbean and Latin America than any other US carrier ever,” said Brian Znotins, American's Senior Vice President of Network and Schedule Planning, in announcing the expanded winter schedule.

Tickets for the new routes will be available for purchase on American Airlines' website starting May 20.

In addition to the new routes, American Airlines will also increase service on existing popular routes.

The Miami–Tortola, BVI service will increase to five peak-day flights starting December 7.
