Ahead of the Smirnoff Color Festival on Sunday at Hope Gardens, St Andrew, the organisers are advising all those planning to attend the party that they must carry proper identification with them, as there will be checks at the gate. As the presenting sponsor for the event, Smirnoff is on an ongoing drive to promote responsible drinking and will be insisting in this at its events.

The company is putting in place policies and procedures that will prevent underage drinking.

Red Stripe and all of its associated brands will not be supporting any events that do not have proper responsible drinking measures in place. The company launched its Drink Right campaign in 2008 with the aim of addressing the issues of underage drinking, how to prevent excessive drinking and it also tackles drinking and driving.

Drink Right is a social movement that strives to create a culture and attitude of responsibility in the consumption of alcohol, through the implementation of a variety of programmes that show the highest potential for impact.

At Sunday's Color Festival, there will also be a team of Drink Right ambassadors, who will be doing ID checks at the gate and roving the grounds to check for armbands.

"We will be putting measures in place to prevent underage drinking and encourage the responsible consumption of alcohol," said Dianne Ashton Smith, head of Corporate Communications, Red Stripe, adding that Smirnoff takes pride in ensuring the well-being of all its consumers.
