FunFest a blast for kids, entire family

The young and young at heart converged at Hope Gardens for a day filled with excitement and laughter. While the event was geared towards attracting mostly children, adults were certainly not left out, as they, too, participated in the day of activities at the family FunFest.
While some got their faces painted, others milled around the various sponsor booths in order to get a taste of what was being offered. The long lines for each ride were testament to the fact that the kids were having a blast.
Kids splashed away in the pool under the watchful gazes of their parents, while others scrambled to the stage to get their pictures taken with their favourite cartoon characters.
At one point, Dora, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Super Mario, Barney the Dinosaur, Elmo, and Winnie The Pooh engaged in a dance-off. Laughter permeated the air as the characters did the Kreech, Syvah, and Shampoo dances, while patrons cheered them on. While Spider-Man put up a valiant fight, he was no match for the energetic and flexible Iron Man.

The merry-go-round, train rides and dancing clowns also kept children busy throughout the day. It was, however, the 5D cinema on location that had the longest lines.
After working up an appetite, the food court provided the perfect one-stop spot for refuelling. Patrons indulged in Domino's pizzas, Tastee patties, popcorn, snow cones, and a variety of pastries.
As the day progressed, several entertainers made their way to the stage. Up first was gospel artiste Omari, who had members of the audience singing along to songs such as Help, Jehovah Guide Me, and Step.
As the day progressed, several up-and-coming artistes also graced the stage, including Young Kings and Clueless Brothers. They were preceded by Sister Josey, who delivered a song titled, Yuh God Nuh Dead. Several attempts by the emcees to get her off the stage were met with resistance, as she insisted on completing her song.
Ikaya later took the stage to a screaming audience, reeling off hits such as Hard Way, I Ain't Giving Up, and Ugly Girl.
Digicel's brand ambassador, Jermaine Edwards, also delivered a great set.
