The Pulse Search For The Million Dollar Girl was launched in 2014.

Now the top 21 new faces selected at the live finals last August are competing for the top prize on the reality TV show for the event, airing on TVJ at 9:30 p.m. on Saturdays.

The TV contestant in the spotlight this week is Crissel Pike. The 16-year-old from St Andrew is 5' 8.5" tall. Crissel names Jaunel McKenzie as her favourite Pulse model. She thinks her personality is the most interesting thing about her and believes she is different from the average teenager.

Crissel loves to read, John Lewis being her favourite author. She is always thinking about others and loves meeting new people. She confesses to being a drama queen who is always trying new things. Crissel does not believe in failure. Potatoes are her favourite food - boiled, baked or as French fries. Other favourite foods are pizzas and burgers.

Crissel has entered competitions before, placing in the top group in a Mini Miss Pageant while at prep school. She plays volleyball and netball and swims. At school, she regularly wins reading competitions and numeracy challenges.

A real talent, she writes stories, sings and dances. She says: "I want people to know that I'm a really great person and, although I am young, I think that I am a big deal. My best character trait is that I am optimistic; I look at the good things in life. I am not easily frustrated. I love to model because, when I do, I feel free and accomplished; I finally feel like I belong somewhere. I am at Pulse because I love to model and it's something I always wanted to do".
