A force of Nature captures California

 

Recording artiste Nature invaded California for the month of August to promote his album, Life's Journey, and was a force to be reckoned with. The singer thrilled audiences from northern California, where he opened for Stephen Marley at Reggae on the River, the biggest Reggae Festival in America, to southern California, where he opened for Steel Pulse in San Diego.

During his visit, Nature worked with British reggae don Pato Banton in San Diego and performed at the prestigious Roxy in Los Angeles with veteran rockers The English Beat, and had the sold-out crowd in the palm of his hands.

The artiste then blew into trendy Huntington Beach to demolish the Beachcomber with Peter Tosh's band (the Soul Syndicate/ Fully Fullwood band). Another great voice of Jamaican music, Tarrus Riley (with Dean Fraser), invited Nature onstage to perform a duet at the Observatory in Santa Ana and introduced him as the next superstar from Jamaica.

Nature then hit the LA Yard clubs of Jamaica Gold, Medusa, Zanzibar and the Dub Club, where he played to a sold-out crowd with Warrior King and Sister Nancy.

Nature says the trip was a magical experience and he's looking forward to revisiting California soon.

"It was simply amazing, I was invited by Magic! to hang out backstage at their show with rock reggae stars the Dirty Heads and I also met with superstar producer Don Was (Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan) who gave me some serious insight into the music business. I've learnt so much from these great musicians in a short period of time, and I'm even more motivated to spread reggae across the globe."

 

Nesbeth a hit with reggae lovers across Europe

 

After giving a good account of himself at several major festivals throughout Europe, including Germany's Reggae Jam and Reggae Geel in Belgium, all of which forms part of his almost two month tour, Rastafarian singer Nesbeth continues to find favour with reggae lovers across that continent.

Kicking off the second leg of his tour in the United Kingdom, the Jamaican crooner tasted victory during a recent stop in London. Performing at the popular club, Bar A Bar, in the British capital, Nesbeth received a rousing reception from fans when he hit the stage singing the riveting street anthem, Board House. During his energised 30-minute set, he was awash with bountiful adulation of appreciation for the positive messages of love and upliftment interspersed with speeches about the joy and perils of life.

Speaking with members of the British media following the performance, Nesbeth explained, "Tour life is not easy, things can get very tough on the road, especially with the constant change of climate, but it's always a joy to perform for the people, and it's moments like this that make it all worthwhile. I really enjoyed the show."

 

'Junior Reid: The Living Legend' album out

 

International recording artiste Junior Reid has released his long-awaited studio album, Junior Reid: The Living Legend.

The 20-track album features songs like the pop-influenced, Love You Back, Never Let You Go, This Generation featuring Sizzla Kalonji, Wanted featuring Buju Banton and Never Too Rough featuring Julian Marley.

Some of the producers who have worked on the album include son Adoney Reid, Lynford 'Fatta' Marshall, King Jammy, James of Machete Records, producer Jervis 'Spugy' Clarke, 'Prekeh' and Junior Reid himself.

"We went for an original roots/rock feel to the album, however, the lead single, Love You Back has a pop-commercial feel, that is why we shot a video for the international market. The video was released a week before the album is was released,"

Junior Reid: The Living Legend is the artiste's 17th album and is available online for sale on platforms such as CD Baby, iTunes and his website.

 

Kabaka Pyramid's 'Well Done' single hits Billboard

 

Kabaka Pyramid has released the long-awaited music video for his hit reggae anthem, Well Done. The video, officially debuted on mega music publication Billboard.com, is directed by Benjamin Lidsky with edit and illustrations by Ikem Smith.

The concept of the visuals show people of Jamaica from all walks of life - entertainers, journalists, lecturers, doctors, media personalities, national footballers, students and farmers - rallying around the poignant message of this Damian 'Jr Gong' Marley-produced track.

This Ghetto Youths/Bebble Rock Music release, has been receiving rave responses worldwide since its original February 17, 2015 release, topping charts all over the globe. Always the outspoken lyricist, Kabaka speaks directly to the corrupted politicians of the world ... social commentary at it's best.
