Marleys to host weekend of parties in Florida Cayes
Grammy award-winning artistes Stephen and Damian Marley are getting set to host the fourth annual Beach Road Trip Weekend, along with brother Rohan Marley. Other more celebrity hosts are confirmed for this year's event set to take place November 6-8 in the Florida Cayes.
Damian and Stephen Marley will host Hawaiian themed party V Maui Wowi, taking place on Friday, November 6, and will feature some of the biggest names in Caribbean Entertainment.
Damian and Stephen, sons of legendary reggae singer Bob Marley, have achieved huge success on the Billboard Charts and award ceremonies. Damian was a Grammy winner in 2002 with his highly acclaimed album, Half-Way Tree. Stephen is a six-time Grammy winner and also a member of Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers.
Soca-themed party
Rohan Marley will host Day Break, a soca-themed breakfast party sponsored by Marley Coffee, of which he is co-founder. That party takes place on Sunday, November 8. Other members of the Marley clan will be in attendance for the weekend.
Assassin, Fay-Ann Lyons and Bunji Garlin will perform at the event. Other artistes and celebrities including Christopher Martin, Ding Dong, Trabass, Yaad Bwoys, Gyallis in Paris, and Bad Gyal Dy Dy. Numerous DJs, Coppershot, Renaissance, DJ Nico and Barrie Hype are also in of the line-up.
Beach Road Trip Weekend (BRT Weekend) is a three-day all-inclusive Caribbean-American party, held every November in the city of Islamorada in the beautiful Florida Cayes.
The weekend consists of six uniquely themed parties featuring celebrity DJs and recording artistes. Past artistes include, Kerwin Dubois, Mavado, Red Rat and Popeye Caution.
Founded in 2012 by Miami Jouvert and Xtreme Wet n' Wild promoter Hans Mullings, BRT Weekend has become the biggest Caribbean party outside of the region with patrons returning every year from the US, Canada, the Caribbean and the UK. Tickets can be purchased at www.brtweekend.com.
