Adele's latest album 25 has now officially sold over three million copies in the United States (US), according to Nielsen Music.

Prior to the release, many persons predicted that the album would have gone platinum in its first week, judging by the success of the lead single, Hello, which debuted at No.1 on the Hot 100 chart.

Now, 25 has done the seemingly impossible. The album has sold more than three million copies in the US in less than a week, and its first tracking week isn't even over as yet. This puts the United Kingdom-born singer ahead of American Britney Spears, who previously held the record for the highest album debut sales for a female artiste.

Another UK-based female artiste doing well for herself musically is Joss Stone, though falling from the No. 1 spot on the Reggae Billboard chart to No. 3 this week, the singer is spending her 16th week in the top 10, holding off stiff competition from Jah Cure, who sits at No. 5, falling from No. 4 last week.

Meanwhile, holding down the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart is Set In Stone by overseas-based reggae band Stick Figure.

OMI has fallen to No. 47 this week but remains the only Jamaican artiste on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, which is dominated by Justin Bieber, who has an impressive 16 songs on the Hot 100 chart.
