Steele Pulse's Lead Singer in recovery mode
Several shows cancelled because of singer's illness
Renowned reggae group Steel Pulse has been forced to cancel several major appearances in the coming weeks as their lead singer, David Hinds, recovers from complications due to pneumonia.
According to a post on the group's official Facebook page, Hinds is out of the hospital and recovering, but as a result of his recovery, they have taken the decision to cancel some upcoming shows, including the One Love Festival in New Zealand this weekend.
The post giving the update on Hinds' condition was made over the weekend.
"Hey everyone, nuff love to you all and many thanks for all the well wishes," the post read. "Some positive news as David Hinds is out of the hospital and continuing his recuperation and rest at home."
As a result of Hinds' illness, the group has cancelled the following shows:
FEBRUARY
1st - Santa Ana, California, The Observatory Orange County
2nd - Solana Beach, California, Belly Up
4th - Honolulu, Hawaii, The Republik
7th - New Zealand, One Love Festival
11th - Australia Gold Coast, The Coolangatta Hotel
12th - Byron Bay, New South Wales Australia, Byron Bay, The Northern
13th - Sydney, Australia, The Metro Theatre
14th - Melbourne, Australia, Max Watt's House of Music.
The post went on to express that the cancelled shows would be rescheduled and the new dates announced as soon as possible. The band also hopes to resume touring, finishing its documentary, Dreadtown, and completing its next album in the near future.
