Samsung S7 Surprise For Bunji, Fayon

The first handover in the Caribbean of the all-new Samsung Galaxy S7 smartphone took place at Bacchanal Fridays' Digicel Night. It featured soca's power couple Fay-Ann Lyons and Bunji Garlin being interrupted on stage during their electrifying performance by Digicel's sponsorship manager, Kamal Powell, who made the surprise handover to both artistes.

One lucky patron was the third recipient. Malcolm Eleweanya walked away being the first Jamaican to own the much-desired device after purchasing Digicel credit earlier at the event.

Fay-Ann Lyons and Bunji Garlin expressed their thankfulness in song; Malcolm Eleweanya was sheer delight in words.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 is set to be launched on April 1 and will be available at major Digicel stores across the country.

We Are Reggae Unplugs the '90s

with Ghost, Frisco Kid

The marquee monthly concert series We Are Reggae unplugs the 1990s with two of that era's biggest stars, Ghost and Frisco Kid, on Saturday, March 26. The Beach Bar, home of the franchise, delivers the '90s live-music theme night at Doctors Cave Beach, Montego Bay. Neither artiste has graced the stage in western Jamaica in a while.

Ghost (Carlton Hylton) came into prominence during the 1990s with reggae covers of pop classics such as Something Inside So Strong, Do You Remember, Here I Am and God Is Truly Amazing. The co-founder of The Monster Shack Crew, later renamed Monster Empire, has three full-length studio albums to his credit, 1993's Slowly, 2000's Love You and 2002's Under The Moonlight. Ghost has toured extensively.

Hit songs such as Little and Cute, Matey Anthem, Video Light, Yuh and Yuh Man, Tribulation, and many more, established western Kingston's Stephen Wray aka Frisco Kid as one of dancehall music's greats of the 1990s. The former member of the Shocking Vibes Crew has one studio album to his credit, Finally, and has toured, bringing his music across the globe. Frisco Kid is also known to deliver great live sets.

Tickets for the event are $2,000 pre-sold and $2,500 at the gate and are available at Fontana Fairview, El Paso Sam Sharpe Square, and www.urticketpro.com.
