VP Records To Release Extended Version of Jamaican Mafia
Jamerican Productions has joined forces with VP Records, the iconic company responsible for distributing dancehall music to the highest heights, for the release of the brand new extended version DVDs of the Jamaican Mafia movie.
Orville Matherson, executive producer of the film, says this new version boasts a longer-running time, which includes scenes that were taken out of the picture in order to comply with show time regulations during the theatrical run. Matherson says he decided to re-add the scenes that were removed after constantly hearing from raving fans that the two hour-long movie was too short.
Jamaican Mafia was released on an online streaming platform in November 2015 and was illegally downloaded and released prematurely on DVD by bootleggers. With all the positive praises and reviews from thousands of people who saw the film, it's already a cult hit and will go on to be what they call a cult-classic.
Matherson is urging fans worldwide, to visit reggaeplanet.com to add the freshly minted extended version of Jamaican Mafia to their movie collection.
Remastered
Mykal Fax, the co-producer, screenwriter and lead actor, also added that the DVD has been digitally remastered and repackaged as a collector's item.
VP Records will host an in-store release of the film at its flagship store in Queens, New York, on Saturday,
May 7, 2016. The director, Vafomba Donzo, along with the main stars of the movie will be in the house, signing autographs, meeting and greeting fans.
So far, Mykal Fax aka Zoo-Zoo; Stokley Brown, aka Massup; Nardo Ranks, aka Jankro; Martina Startina, aka Pichairie; and Rodney Fletcher, aka Cripple, are all scheduled to appear.
"For those who saw the movie already and think they've seen it all, we are giving you a much better picture quality with more action, more sex and more comedy," said Fax.
