Entertainers Sizzla Kalonji and Prado have collaborated for a new single dedicated to mothers called My Mama. The song is set to be released today, and according to Prado, the record may be purchased on all digital outlets as a gift to mothers on this, their special, day.

Prado also commented on parenting, saying that the record is different from other songs dedicated to mothers. The effort not only praises good mothers, but draws attention to the fact that some mothers have not done a good job at executing their roles. .

"A friend told me that his mother threw him out in a garbage can when he was born and a stranger raised him; it just reminded me that not all mothers are nice and this is how I got the concept for the song," Prado said.

Prado, who was formerly known as Desperado, also shared with The Sunday Gleaner, that he and his mother share a relationship reminiscent of a friendship.

"When you have a good mother, you are blessed and should cherish her. I refer to my mother as my number one girl, and she is my best friend, along with my father," Prado said.

Sizzla Kalonji was unavailable for comment. However, the icon is no stranger to releasing singles dedicated to mothers, as he is known for popular efforts like Thank You Mama, Mama Mek Mi Deh Ya Suh, Greatest Mother and Baby Mother.

Prado says Sizzla was the best person to collaborate with for a record dedicated to mothers.

"Sizzla is my all-time favorite artiste, and fortunately for me, I can call him my musical brother. I think he has one of the best 'Mama' songs ever written and would be able to bring the kind of sound the My Mama single would benefit from," Prado explained.

Plans are already under way to create a video for My Mama, while Sizzla has already released a video for Mama Mek Mi Deh Ya Suh.
