BATV ‘On Point’ Readies For Season 2
Business Access Television, Jamaica's first business cable channel, continues to innovate and expand as it adds more programmes and enters into new partnerships.
Season one of its highly acclaimed current affairs programme, On Point, came to an end on October 20 and already there is high anticipation surrounding Season Two.
The first season, launched in July, had 13 episodes featuring great minds like Heston Hutton, CEO of Conec Mobile Wallet; Michael Lee-Chin, chairman of the Economic Growth Council; Eleanor Hussey, director of the Cannabis Licensing Authority; US Ambassador Luis Moreno and Kamal Bankay, director of public relations for Dream Entertainment, among others.
According to Garth Walker, managing director at Business Access TV, "Viewers can expect compelling content on relevant issues being discussed. Our drive is to ensure the Jamaican people are kept abreast of any major development in the business or government arena."
Educate and inform
Kalilah Reynolds, programme host, is excited for what is to come for the upcoming season.
"In Season Two of On Point, you can expect more riveting conversations about the business issues that matter," Reynolds said.
It is the aim of the programme's producer, Kaneal Gayle, to tackle more major issues affecting the Jamaican economy, as well as posing tough questions to stakeholders, on a quest for all the answers.
"We know that Jamaica is a part of a global community and is susceptible to external shocks. This season, we will be tackling in depth more regional and international business issues. We realise the critical role On Point plays as the only current affairs business discussion show on television, and we take that responsibility very seriously. We believe our job is to educate and inform our viewers so they're able to see the bigger economic picture and not just the small pieces of the puzzle," Gayle explained.
On Point is aired every Thursday at 8 p.m., on BATV FLOW channel 145/185 and DigiPlay channel 25.
