First Fest returns January 2

The AIM First Fest returns in 2017 after a two-year hiatus, having been launched in 2014. The line-up for the concert on Monday, January 2, at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre, Hope Road, St Andrew is Kevin Downswell, DJ Nicholas, Prodigal Son, George Nooks, Jabez, Joan Flemmings, Sister Patt, Keesa Peart, Reverend Glen Graham and Carey Sayles.
Grammy-nominated Dietrich Haddon returns to Jamaica to headline the festival after his summer performance was aborted due to storm threats.
AIM First Fest is presented by Action Entertainment, in association AIM Financial Corporation.
"I am delighted for all the sponsors we have on board so far, and even more so for the confidence of our title sponsor for their faith in our event. After two years of planning, we had to make sure that the festival returned with a powerful concept, message and ministry," explained executive producer Markland 'Action' Edwards.
He said, "First Fest 2014 was massive, but for 2017, we wanted to provide an event that would set the bar for the gospel community in Jamaica, being one of the first major gospel events starting the New Year. AIM First Fest will have a new look in a secure and professional venue with ample parking and international appeal. This year, we will also incorporate a kids' hub along with the live performances, making the event one that the entire family can come out to enjoy."
Patrons can expect powerful ministry, deliverance, fun, food, wholesome entertainment, free Wi-Fi, games and giveaways all day. The gates will open at 10 a.m.
"We are at a very advanced stage of planning the event. Artistes are ready for ministry and we are prepared to host Christians and non-Christians from all across Jamaica," Edwards said.
