Christopher Martin’s Big Deal Fourth On iTunes

Christopher Martin's new release, Big Deal, is fourth on the iTunes Top 100 Reggae Albums chart up to 5:30 a.m. yesterday. It sits behind Fortunate Youth's self-titled set which tops the chart, followed by Lost in Paradise (Common Kings) and the various artistes Get Soca 2017.

In fifth and sixth are the accustomed Bob Marley and the Wailers pair of Legend (Remastered) and Legend (Deluxe Edition), respectively. Two Rebelution albums, Falling Into Place (seven) and Courage to Grow (eight), are also side by side, while London McNamara's A Dollar Short & a Minute Late is ninth. Completing the top 10 is another Marley, this time Damian with Welcome to Jamrock.

The Marley parade continues in the top 20, as Bob Marley and the Wailers' Gold is 12th and Exodus (Remastered) is 13th, while Nas and Damian's Distant Relatives (Bonus Track Version) is 17th. Just outside the top 20 is Stephen Marley's Mind Control at number 21.

Shaggy's Hot Shot and Buju Banton's 'Til Shiloh are side by side at numbers 23 and 24, respectively and Shaggy has another entry close by in The Boombastic, best of collection in number 27.

Marleys apart, the ranking's top 50 is littered with venerable names like Steel Pulse and UB40. However, the relative youngsters get a look-in with Dread and Terrible (Chronixx) at number 48 and Popcaan's Where We Come From smack on number 50.

Raging Fyah's Everlasting is number 59 and, shortly after his death, Ronnie Davis' Iyahcoustic weighs in at number 63.

A pair of various artiste sets, Summer Pop Reggae Songs 2016 and X-Rated & Raw Dancehall, are at number 70 and 71, respectively. Tomorrow, a commemorative lovers' event for Gregory Isaacs will be held at the Constant Spring Golf Club; his Night Nurse (Bonus Track Version) is at number 86.
