Alison Hinds rolls back on to J'can stage tonight
It has been over four years since the Queen of Soca, Alison Hinds, graced our local shores, and she is currently in the island and ready to perform tonight, as Wray & Nephew Jamaica Carnival, in association with KFC presents, Soca In Da City fete.
The event is scheduled to unfold at 8 p.m., at the St Lucia Avenue Car Park, New Kingston.
Alison Hinds is fresh out of Trinidad Carnival, in Crop Over mood and is ready to deliver a pulsating, dynamic set.
"My carnival babies, get ready to fÍte! It feels really great to be back in Jamaica for Byron Lee's Jamaica Carnival. Byron used to make sure Square 1 was a part of the festivities every year without fail and continued to include me, even after I became a solo artiste, so this means a lot to me. I think it's great that this revival is happening. You can never have too much carnival and it can only enhance and broaden the soca landscape," Alison Hinds shared.
Hinds was crowned the undisputed Queen of Soca by her fans worldwide and is known for her hits like Roll It Gyal, Brace and Wine and Faluma.
"(Tonight), my fans can expect a great show with some little twists added to make it that much better. They party to some of my songs that have become classics as well as my newer tracks," she added.
Musical juggling will be from the party animal DJ Kurt Riley, Supa Hype and Friends, Dlife and DJ Billy.
Title sponsor Wray & Nephew is excited to finally be back pon di road with Jamaica Carnival.
