Chart Watch - iTunes | Heritage’s 'Avrakedabra' at number 34

Not very long ago, family unit Morgan Heritage disbanded. Not so long ago, Peetah, Gramps, Una and co decided that they were better together than apart. And now, their album, Avrakedabra, which has a release date of May 19, 2017, is at number 24 on the iTunes Reggae Albums Chart up to early yesterday morning.

They are not the only reggae brothers and sisters who have an album on the listing. However, the other set was released nearly 30 years ago and members have gone their separate musical ways and stayed on the individual path. Conscious Party (Ziggy Marley and The Melody Makers) is at number 40. It was released in 1988.

There is more significant, surprising Marley movement in the upper part of the iTunes Reggae Albums Chart. Not only has the one-two combination of Legend (Remastered) and Legend (Deluxe Edition) been interrupted, but both are (by their lofty standards) far down the ranking. Remastered is at number three and the Deluxe Edition is seventh.

NO STOPPING

However, there seems to be no stopping the Legend as the new number one is the Rarities Edition. The new release, The Hookup (Kash'd Out), is in the number two slot; Collie Buddz's Good Life is at number four; and another Bob Marley and the Wailers set, Exodus (Remastered), is fifth.

There are Marley albums scattered all over the chart, with Jimmy Cliff also having multiple entries and Shaggy placing his Mr Lover Lover persona in different places. Peter Tosh's Legalize It, soundtrack of a movement, which is coming to a positive resolution, is in the number 27 spot, and the lover's rock man, Beres Hammond, wraps up the listing at 100.
