BRT J'Ouvert Breakfast Party - Late, but great
A relatively late start affected the time for the breakfast J'Ouvert party on Sunday morning, but it did not put a damper on the spirits of the partygoers who turned out for the BRT Weekend of parties.
The event pulled a huge crowd as was expected, and with powder, paint and a water truck on location, there was more than enough activities to keep patrons occupied.
With the females numbering way more than their male counterparts, the intimate gathering proved to be a plus, particularly for the male patrons. Needless to say, patrons had the time of their lives.
It was J'Ouvert after all and so it wouldn't be right if there wasn't the usual paint-splashing all about the venue.
Patrons bathed each other in paint, sparing no part of the body, as they transformed themselves into human canvases.
Bunji Garlin took the stage at 11:52 a.m., and had patrons in a frenzy as he delivered songs like Truck On The Road and Happy, among others. He also had patrons cracking up with laughter as he created some live freestyles, poking fun at various members of the audience.
Each DJ later took to the turntables and gave patrons a full serving of dancehall, hip hop and soca music.
The event concluded at 1 p.m., with patrons begging for more. However, this time around they were given one additional song and, as expected, patrons made sure to give it their all with one last hurrah for the road.
