Natural vibe at Creative Writing Workshop

The energy at the Creative Writing Workshop, hosted by SenYAcum Edutainment, as part of the activities of the seventh annual Jamaica Poetry Festival, outweighed the number of attendees. Though it was not selective to one age group, both children and adults were present.

The workshop was held at the Louise Bennett Garden Theatre, rock gardens in Kingston, to create a comfortable atmosphere and space. It was open to all writers, established and non-established, who wished to share and learn the art of writing from each another.

Noel Golding, a member of SenYAcum Entertainment, led the morning's activities and invited persons to share what poetry meant to them, as well as create literary works from simple statements and being inspired by the environment.

All participants within the circle had to share, during which most individuals helped with building up the courage to speak, as well as gain constructive feedback. It is hoped that the workshop will grow and continue throughout the year.
