Brooklyn-based reggae artiste weds this weekend
Jamaica-born, Brooklyn-based reggae artiste Bucky Ital is set to wed the love of his life today.
Bucky Ital, whose real name is Uhan Pearson, hails from Westmoreland. He attended the Frome Technical high school before migrating to New York, and he's getting married to his longtime sweetheart, Daisha Henry, at a private splash today in East Flatbush, Brooklyn.
Bucky Ital has been recording and performing for over 10 years. One of his best-loved singles to date is Fly Away, a ganja song, and earlier this year, he participated in the Peter Tosh remake of the classic anthem Legalize It with a number of music industry luminaries.
The lovers have been seeing each other for some 13 years and share a child together. When asked why now, lyrics master Bucky Ital retorted: "Why not now? If not now, then when?"
"She has been my best friend, my closest partner and my soul mate," Bucky said. "We have been through a lot, good times, bad times, trials and tribulation, but no matter what, we can't wait to dive back into each other's arms. Professionally, she understands my music career as much as I understand and support her career in nursing, and she has been there for me spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically. She is a solid, royal queen with Jamaican roots, and I could not be happier," he said, beaming.
Following the nuptials, the newly weds will "fly away" to an undisclosed resort in the Dominican Republic for their honeymoon.
