The Green

The new release, Marching Orders, by The Green, was the top album on the iTunes ranking of reggae albums up to early yesterday morning. It was ahead of Legend (Remastered) by Bob Marley and the Wailers, another new release separating that 'best of' set from its other version, Legend (Deluxe Edition).

That third-placed set is More to Say Versions by The Frightnrs. Completing the top five is Damian 'Jr Gong' Marley's Stony Hill.

The website reggaeville.com, says The Green is a four-man Hawaiian band, their self-titled debut album released in February 2010.

Chronixx's Chronology, is at number seven, a place behind Stick Figure's enduring Set in Stone. Rebelution is in eighth with Falling Into Place, while A Dollar Short & A Minute Late (Landon McNamara) in ninth and Bob Marley and The Wailers' Gold wrap up the top 10.

Just outside the top 10 is Jr Gong's Welcome to Jamrock and two places behind is Jesse Royal's debut set Lily of Da Valley. Buju Banton's Til Shiloh continues to hold its own at number 23.

TOP 30

Two riddim-driven albums are back to back in the middle of the top 30. The Om Kingston Ouji Riddim is at 25, with tracks by Busy Signal, Chuck Fendah, Jah Vinci, Luciano and Koffe, among others. At 26 is the Body & Soul Riddim, a new release which features Chris Martin (Blessings), Miss You (Notis Heavyweight Rockaz), Iba Mahr's Dollar Sign and Future Queen (Charly Black).

Reggae Gold 2017 and Soca Gold 2017 are at numbers 52 and 53, respectively, while The Green's self-titled set turns up at 58. Chronixx has a double of his own, with Dread & Terrible holding the number 61 spot.

At number 84 is Beenie Man's From Kingston to King of the Dancehall - A Collection of Dancehall Favourites, which pulls together Who Am I, Foundation, Slam and Ole Dawg, among others. And Sizzla's Da Real Live Thing is just behind at number 85, that set released in 2005.
