Bacchanal 2017 band launched
Under the theme 'Rebirth', Bacchanal Jamaica has once again partnered with the Frenchmen team to offer a premium experience that offers exclusive treatment, including access across events.
VIP ticket holders for the recently rescheduled band launch have been offered free VIP access to the Frenchmen party at Mas Camp on February 23. Perhaps a catalyst, the VIP section of the Bacchanal Band Launch was notably very crowded.
All the same, patrons enjoyed Patron shots, meat sliders, tuna sandwiches, hot soups, and jerked chicken.
"We are happy to be back on the road with Bacchanal Jamaica in 2018. For the third consecutive year, we will have an exclusive Frontline-only-Frenchmen section," commented AndrÈ Choo Quan, founder and CEO of Trini Jungle Juice, marketers of the band, boasting seven costumes: Ascension, designed by Lauren Austin (exclusive designer for Bajan icon Rihanna since 2013); Athena, by Humzee; Calypso, by Alejandro Gomez; Eclipse, by Danielle Vernon; Renaissance, by Samantha Ammon; Paradise, by Tracey Julien; and Awakening, by Kris Jackson.
Other Bacchanal team costume designers are Jodi Henriques, Tisha Nelson of Federation Motif, and allied sections include Peeny Wally Mas, Jessica Campbell, Roast International, Leroy Anedu, Designs by Dru, and Nirvana Carnival. Other section marketing is provided by Hybrid, Animal Instinct, Chill Jamaica, and Nirvana Magazine.
"Our experience in the carnival arena has taught us that we cannot be static. We must be flexible, and we must be aware of new trends and must be ready to make the changes necessary to ensure that the Bacchanal experience is always world-class," said Charmaine Franklin, director, Bacchanal Jamaica.
"One of the new 'breed' of modern designers on our team is Humzee, a young, local designer who consistently pushes the boundaries of creativity. His work includes bold, vibrant, intricate, and abstract designs influenced by the latest fashion, gems, and fabrics in the market and he is determined to create his own path in the world of fashion and art," said Mathew Khoury, another Bacchanal Jamaica director.
Bacchanal Fridays will begin on February 16, and will also include at least two off-site fÍtes and a breakfast fÍte.
"We are introducing some variety to our events calendar to offer diverse activities to heighten the engagement of our valued fan base and also to increase the number of Bacchanal revellers," said Michael Ammar.
Beach J'ouvert will again be held at Grizzly's Plantation Cove, while Bacchanal J'ouvert and the road march will take over the streets of Kingston on April 6 and April 8, respectively.
Bacchanal New Year will be on December 29, 2017, at the Mas Camp when fans will fÍte with Patrick the Hypeman, Chromatic, King Taj, and Coppershot. Soca stars and Jamaican favourites Destra, Kes, Dru and their bands will be on the 2018 entertainment schedule and will be supported by DJs Private Ryan, Barry Hype, Back2Basics, Patrick the Hypeman and the Dream Team, along with Jamaican vibe masters Smoke, Lantern, Sanjay, Cruz, and others.
