The plug has officially been pulled on gospel singer Tasha Cobbs' debut performance at the upcoming Unity in the City concert slated for Easter Monday, April 2, at the National Stadium in Kingston.

Event organiser Antoinette Ennis of SWOT Business Solutions disclosed that Cobbs was initially booked to perform in Jamaica through a third-party agent. However, negotiations broke down between her management and the agent.

"Owing to the uncertainty of the situation and to protect our integrity and reputation of our partners and sponsors, we have made the decision to replace Tasha Cobbs with internationally renowned gospel artiste Israel Houghton. Houghton is a gifted singer with a powerful ministry, so we can assure patrons that they can expect the same high-energy, high-quality night of soul stirring, foot stomping, hand-clapping praise and worship, that Cobbs is known for," Ennis said.

Following the success last year of two back-to-back, sold-out concerts in Kingston and Montego Bay, organisers have again added international Grammy award-winning gospel singer Travis Greene to the line-up for an encore performance at Unity In The City.

"When we booked Travis for Jamaica last year, we knew he had a solid fan base here, but it was after we saw his interaction with the crowd, how he engaged fans, and how they warmed to his spiritual message that we saw how special he was. The connection was made with Travis, and his team decided to partner with us. We are currently working with him on his 'Crossover' live tour," Ennis disclosed.

Greene began his music career in 2007 with Stretching Out, a studio album that was a breakout hit for him. Singles Still Here and Prove My Love peaked at number 17 and 29 on the Billboard Top Gospel Songs chart. His single Made a Way made it all the way to number one on Billboard's Gospel Airplay chart recently.

Joining Greene and Houghton on stage will be international singer JJ Hairston, known for his exuberant, urban-tinged gospel songs. The impressive line-up of performers includes award-winning singers, songwriters, and evangelists Kevin Downswell, Jermaine Edwards, DJ Nicholas, and Ity Ellis.
