Up-and-coming artiste Tessellated is still reeling from a great showing at the most recent staging of 100 Live. Known for his popular Pine and Ginger song, Tassellated had the grounds of 100 on Hope Road rocking as he delivered an entertaining closing set.

After witnessing what many dubbed a promising performance from the rising star, many are looking forward to what the artiste has in store as he continues to establish himself in the music industry.

Speaking with The Gleaner about his recent performance, Tessellated said he was pleased with his set and was happy the audience enjoyed his musical offerings. "The audience reception was great. Many people in the crowd knew the lyrics to songs and were really getting into the performance, which is always a great experience as an artiste," he said, praising the 100 LIVE organisers on a well-organised show. "I've done a few different shows in Jamaica now, but

100 LIVE was one of the most well-organised. It was really just fun, it was great listening to the other talented young performers, and when it was my time to go on stage, I was just excited to go do my thing."

Backed by Circa 11, Tessellated performed some soon-to-be released material and his most recent single, Hallucinate. The song, which is a collaboration with producer Rvssian, was done on a remix of Rvssian's 2006 Beach Front riddim, which featured dancehall hits from Vybz Kartel and Konshens.

HIGHLIGHT

The highlight of his performance came when he sang Pine & Ginger. He had the audience singing along as many are familiar with the popular song. Tessellated gave the audience a special treat when he invited Paradise Plum singer Naomi Cowan to join him on stage to deliver the remix of the track, which features Popcaan. Having established himself as one to watch out for at 100 Live, Tessellated is gearing up to take his career to the next level. "Right now, I have several songs that I'm gearing up to release with my team. The plan for the rest of the year is to get out all this new content so people can get a better picture of who I am as an artiste and then to carry that over on to the live stage."

Themed 'The Next Generation', July's edition of 100 LIVE featured five young up-and-coming dancehall/ reggae acts comprising; LaLee Ranks, Magnum King Bluugo, Shakespear D-Dondadda, popular dancehall songwriter-turned-singer Tamo-J and Tessellated.
