The Capital of Casual - Negril - came alive as thousands descended on the north coast to the shore of Cayenne Beach for the Dream Live Concert to kick-start Dream Weekend 2018.

The concert is the first of 10 events being staged over five days of pulsating music, energy and vibes in the tourist-centric town in what is the 10-year anniversary of the internationally renowned Caribbean summer party experience.

Those who came out for the spectacular opening night partied from 8 p.m. until the break of dawn.

Top DJs from Coppershot, along with Bishop Escobar and Tripple X, played non-stop hits keeping the vibes on high until the artistes hit the stage.

The Dream artistes turned up the temperature. They included Aidonia, Govana, Ding Dong and Shenseea, who delivered explosive performances that saw some of their fans joining them on stage and calling for more.

Rygin King, Jah Cure, Teejay and Masicka also represented in a major way to the delight of their screaming fans.

"It is my first time here and I came here to have a good time and also see Masicka," Kimberly Hew told The Gleaner.

Another first-timer, Amanda Ricketts from the United States, also had good things to say about the opening night of Dream Weekend 2018, and noted that she would be here for the entire weekend of non-stop fun.

"Dream Weekend is the best. I had so much fun and I love the artistes' performance, like Aidonia and Shenseea," she stated.
