With less than 30 days to go until the Jamaica Music Conference (JMC) gets under way in Kingston, anticipation is building. The conference, which is set to discuss important issues facing the music industry, will see many music luminaries acting as panellists. The latest to be added to the list is the 'Queen of Reggae': Marcia Griffiths.

Griffiths is set to participate in "Artist in Focus" a one-on-one interview on the final of the four-day programme. She is expected to share insights into her musical journey as well as tips to having a lasting career. Previous "Artist in Focus" speakers have included Tessanne Chin, Protoje, and Copeland Forbes.

The JMC team, thankful that Griffiths has come on board, says they are looking forward to what she has to share. "The JMC team is humbled and honoured by the participation of one of Jamaica's most iconic stars. Marcia Griffiths' story is so valuable to millions of young men and women pursuing the profession of music - across all genres. Her confirmation has ensured that JMC 2018 will be historic," said Kwasi Bonsu, founder of JMC.

With a career that dates back to the 1960s, Griffiths continues to maintain a prominent position in the musical sphere. Her most recent single, Too Good at Goodbyes, has been enjoying much success, charting on major music lists around the world.

Set for November 15-18, JMC will feature discussions surrounding various topics including the current state of music, where to next, and tangible strategies for success. These discussions will take place at various locations across the Corporate Area. Details on schedules, session topics, locations and registration are its website. Other major speakers confirmed for the conference include Tifa, renowned journalist Pat Meschino of music publication giant Billboard, and publicist Ronnie Tomlinson.
