The Met: Live in HD presents a Holiday Special encore of The Magic Flute

Holiday fun for the whole family! Tony Award winner and Oscar Award nominee Julie Taymor brings an innovative and magical recreation of Mozart's The Magic Flute to life - complete with dancing bears and giant flamingos! On Sunday, December 16, 11: 30 a.m. at Palace Cineplex, witness the groundbreaking broadcast that launched the Met's award-winning Live in HD series to movie theatres in 2006. The Magic Flute enchanted opera lovers from around the world with the whimsical humour and breathtaking puppetry of Julie Taymor's hit production, presented in a shortened English-language version.

Under the baton of maestro James Levine, Soprano Erin Morley, last seen at the Met as a brilliant Olympia in Les Contes d'Hoffmann, is the empowered Pamina, and tenor Ben Bliss is the valiant Tamino.The Met: Live in HD 13th season will continue with Verdi's La Traviata on January 6, 2019, at Palace Cineplex.
