Set in a Chicago neighbourhood nearly a decade after hostile occupation of Earth by an extraterrestrial force and the enforcement of strict martial law on all humans, Captive State explores the worlds on both sides of the conflict through the life of a young man who participates in an uprising against the invading extraterrestrial force.

Captive State is a science fiction thriller from Focus Features, directed by Rupert Wyatt and co-written by Wyatt and Erica Beeney. It stars John Goodman, Ashton Sanders, Jonathan Majors, Machine Gun Kelly, and Vera Farmiga.
