After the murder of his father, a young lion prince flees his kingdom, only to learn the true meaning of responsibility and bravery.

A remake of the classic Disney 1994 animated musical of the same name, The Lion King returns with a star-studded cast, including Grammy award winners Beyoncé and Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, Academy Award winner Chiwetel Efiofor, Academy Award nominee Alfre Woodward, as well as Academy Award winner James Earl Jones, reprising his role as Musafa from the original film.

Academy Award and Grammy Award winner Hans Zimmer, who composed the 1994 animated version, returns to compose the score for the remake. Academy Award and Grammy award winner Elton John also returns, reworking his musical compositions from the original film ahead of his retirement, with Beyoncé assisting John in the reworking of the soundtrack.
