It has been scientifically proven that music has the ability to stimulate the body and mind; to catapult a person from one mood to the next in mere seconds. Music, whatever the genre, also acts as a relaxer – to reduce tension and anxiety – for most persons to unwind after a long, tedious day, to clear their minds and just trigger a good time.

With summer winding down, former US President Barack Obama shared a playlist of 44 tracks that he and his family were listening to over the season that added to their good times. It had us wondering what our prime minister, Andrew Holness, was listening to after a busy day at the office.

The only thing our PM shares in common with Obama in terms of musical taste is Koffee’s Toast in their playlist. Reggae and dancehall reigned supreme in Holness’ list, with the musical styles in the playlist shared with The Gleaner ranging from militant expression to giving thanks for simple blessings.

Here is the prime minister’s Top 10:

1. Winning Right Now – Agent Sasco

2. Banks of The Hope – Agent Sasco

3. Mix-up – Agent Sasco
