J’can entertainers gather for World’s Largest Virtual ‘Sesh’
CANNABIS CONNOISSEURS need not worry, because the Southern California-based Green Holdings Group will unite them all today with the World’s Largest Virtual Sesh on Instagram Live. Hosted by rap group Too Short, viewers will have the opportunity to interact with famed cannabis entrepreneurs, entertainers, hip-hop and reggae artistes. Among the star-studded line-up are Jamaica’s own Julian Marley, Warrior King, Mr Vegas and Spragga Benz.
Green Holdings Group, a Southern California cannabis marketing and event company, along with ELF Golf, The Roll Up Show, Smoke Run Deliveries, and Bay Area (California) rap legend Too $hort have banded together to #SAVE420 by hosting a virtual, no-contact celebration immersing viewers in the traditional 4/20 festival vibe.
The reggae artistes will join rappers Too $hort, Jadakiss, Lil Jon and others to provide a platform for cathartic release for viewers who may be experiencing isolation and hopelessness during the COVID-19 pandemic.
SPIRITUAL CONNECTION
“It’s a great thing to be a part of, especially as Rasta. It’s something that we see as natural to be a part of, and also to teach the people that it’s a spiritual connection, not just make it free up because it’s good for the people, or good for your pocket,” Marley told The Gleaner.
The legacy performer posits that the herb is sacramental as acknowledged in his religion, while he highlighted emerging studies suggesting cannabis is medicine. “And we were telling them then! Full circle. It’s different from alcohol. It’s a spiritual strengthening agent with a whole heap of benefits. Yes, even the doctors are telling us now. Is a greatness to see the education finally coming out about this plant,” he added.
Warrior King agreed completely. “Cannabis is a sacramental, spiritual and medicinal vibe. Yes, I use it recreationally to hold a vibe and a reasoning with my queen or my brethrens and sistrens, but as a Rastafarian, herb is sacramental,” he said.
This virtual ‘sesh’ will stream from Too $hort’s instagram platform (@Tooshort) and will last for nearly two hours, starting at 7 p.m. EST. The event will stream simultaneously from his Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube platforms. Other celebrities on the ‘sesh’ line-up are Safaree Samuels, Mike Jones, Krayze Bone of Bone Thugs and Harmony, and Tommy Chong.
