After eight months of globetrotting interviews with an array of celebrity actors, designers, entrepreneurs, and headline makers, television talk-show host Deiwght Peters will hit the pause button on his eponymous lifestyle show on Television Jamaica (TVJ). The season finale of 'Rolling with Deiwght Peters' is slated to feature sit-downs with politician and publisher Mike Henry, world-renowned social historian Verene Shepherd and SAINT's fast-rising Nigerian supermodel, Tomiwa.

With a political record of over three decades as a member of parliament, Henry will reflect on his time in Government and Opposition. He will also discuss his advocacy for reparations from Britain for the atrocities endured by Jamaica and other colonies from the centuries-old slave trade. Also joining the conversation of reparations is Shepherd, director of the Centre for Reparation Research, The University of the West Indies, who echoes Henry's call for reparatory justice.

Also up for the televised tête-à-tête is SAINT model Tomiwa, who zooms in from Paris to talk about her rapid ascension up the model ranks, having within the last two months worked with French luxury fashion brands Louis Vuitton, Chloe and Longchamp. Discovered just three years ago on social media by Peters, the stunning Nigerian beauty went from being a nursing graduate in her African homeland to an exclusive runway model, booking for premier fashion house Celine.

"I am extremely grateful for the enormous success for this first season and the fact that it could be realised during the worst pandemic and economic downturn in history," said Peters. A highlight of the 36-episode season was Peters' interview with history-making Jamaican-born nurse Sandra Lindsay, the first person in the United States to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

As he prepares to wind up the television show for a brief hiatus, Peters said he is pleased with the reception he received from local and international viewers. "[It has] been an [absolutely] amazing season for the show, with over 36 episodes produced, and a true labour of love for me giving a platform for a diverse cast of Jamaican and Caribbean success stories who have raised the bar across the world," Peters said.

He shared that he is excited about Sunday's line-up, given the conversations about race spurred by the Black Lives Matter movement. "Between Mike's milestone political life and his passionate pursuit for reparations, which he shares with an equally ardent Verene, who has long championed reparations too, they will offer viewers strong arguments of the justification for reparations and why black pride is important and should be celebrated," he said.

The season finale of Rolling with Deiwght Peters airs this Sunday at 4 p. m . on TVJ and repeats on Wednesday at 1:05 p. m .
