Dancehall recording artiste-turned-actor Laa Lee is Digicel’s ‘Mek Wi Rich Togeddah’ ambassador.

The artiste said at the recent launch of the summer promotion, held at the Digicel Ocean Boulevard headquarters, that the new partnership is transforming his latest single, Dirt Bounce, inspired by the dance moves created by teenager Tyreke Pennicott.

“It feels good as a product of the ghetto to have one of the Caribbean’s biggest corporate entities see my talent and ask me to come on board. I’m just happy and here in awe at the feedback,” Laa Lee told The Gleaner.

He added, “The big bad bounce, Dirt, a tek it time transform into the money bounce for the season. We’ve remixed it to create the ‘Digi Bounce’, but the bounce itself nuh change.”

The audio-visuals released for the dancehall track two months ago has received 1.5 million views on YouTube, and Laa Lee shared that the success is also showing in the number of streams and the radio play it is getting, adding that “this will add some more visibility to the song and dance for the summer”.

Digicel’s ‘Mek Wi Rich Togeddah’ summer promotion, which runs until September 14, 2021, gives new and existing customers chances to win from a pool of over $42 million in cash and prizes.

“A lot of people will be happy for the opportunity to win something right about now, so let’s see how we can get that to happen,” Laa Lee said.

The launch educated and engaged both customers and staff. Laa Lee and popular dancer Desha Ravers invited individuals to join them in demonstrating the dance move. Miss Kitty and ZJ Sparks also hosted for the day.

As for Laa Lee, he said he is looking forward to various gigs lined up for the season and is also grateful that “Tyreke, who created the dance, a gwaan do him ting to, a gwaan good and get his bookings”.

“Persons can expect a lot more from Laa Lee, a lot more laughter, and more music as the summer continues and into the rest of the year. I’m on the get rich path, but I also a gwaan enjoy life and work hard for what I want,” Laa Lee continued.
