Entertainer Jah Cure was arraigned before a Netherlands court on Tuesday and is currently facing charges on the primary suspicion of attempted murder. Other charges include attempted manslaughter, aggravated assault or attempted aggravated assault.

According to the Netherlands Public Prosecution Service, the examining judge has ordered that the suspect in the incident be placed on remand for 14 days while the police investigation continues.

As such, the True Reflections crooner will remain in custody, without bail, in a detention centre.

A source told The Gleaner that Jah Cure allegedly stabbed Nicardo 'Papa' Blake, a noted promoter and the leader of Roots Vibes Promotion, in the abdomen during an incident in the Netherlands' capital. When contacted, Blake said he could not speak about the incident, and was advised not to while the investigation was ongoing. A request for comment from Jah Cure's team has not yet received a response.

The Netherlands Public Prosecution Service confirmed the details of the incident. However, details about the individuals, such as their names and nationalities, are not released to the public due to privacy restrictions.

The emailed report stated that a 45-year-old man was stabbed last Friday, October 1, on the Dam Square in the city centre of Amsterdam. The victim went to the police station to report the incident and he was immediately taken to a hospital, where he had surgery. A report was filed the following day against a 42-year-old man who allegedly stabbed him on Friday.

Following reports made by the victim and an investigation by the Amsterdam police, they were able to arrest the 42-year-old suspect in the city centre of Utrecht on October 2.
