Throwback music festival Strictly 2K returns to Jamaica on May 28, fresh off its Atlanta staging two weeks ago.

“We are excited to be back home and we’re planning what may be the best staging ever,” director of 2K Entertainment ZJ Chrome said. “We’re pulling all the stops with this upcoming staging. The biggest DJs from the 2000s and who knows, maybe even a surprise guest artiste performance.”

The return of the popular event coincides with the recent reopening of the local entertainment sector.

Director of Logistics and Event Promotion at 2K Entertainment Gabrielle Curling said the period provided learning opportunities to expand and enrich the brand experience, which had one virtual show during the period.

“The pandemic was a difficult time, being away from what we love,” Curling said. “Having gone overseas and collaborated with wonderful minds in the Jamaican entertainment diaspora market, I can tell you the feedback mixed with knowledge from the pivot will enhance not only the Strictly 2K experience, but the Jamaican entertainment experience.”

Strictly 2K had its first staging in December 2016, filling a gap in the local party scene which either only catered to all eras, or events that played music from eras no later than the ‘90s. With vibrant personalities like Twin of Twins, Tony Matterhorn, Kurt Riley, Jazzy T and more, the brand ultimately expanded to the US. They held a staging in Miami, Florida, in November last year.
