Real Housewives of Dubai to air Wednesday
Jamaica’s Lesa Hall is counting down to June 1.
The Mina Roe luxury maternity line designer and former beauty queen is one of six women who will make up the cast of the Real Housewives of Dubai, a part the Real Housewives franchise, Bravo’s crown jewel of catfights and marital meltdowns that is beloved, binged and hate-watched around the world. Although it is expected that there will be no drink-throwing, table-flipping, hair-pulling or otherwise ostentatious fighting in public given the United Arab Emirates’ traditional values and speech restrictions.
“Hi, I’m Lesa Milan, I was made in Kingston, packaged in Miami and exported to Dubai. I’ve been here for eight years. I came over with my husband, who has been here for 16. I am a fashion designer and I have three amazing little boys. I grew up as the only girl in my family, so I’m used to being the princess and now I’m the queen,” said Hall in her intro video for the series.
The Real Housewives of Dubai debuts on Wednesday, and marks the first time in the series’ 16-year history that Bravo has produced a global spin-off.

Bobby Brown fear new Whitney biopic won’t focus on music
Bobby Brown fears a new biopic about his late wife Whitney Houston will drag up her personal drama instead of focusing on her music.
The superstar singer died in 2012 at the age of 50 and her life is going to be brought to the big screen in a new Sony Pictures movie with actress Naomi Ackie in the lead role and Whitney’s long-time pal Clive Davis among the producers.
Brown has now revealed he hopes the biopic will not focus too heavily on Houston’s demons, telling Billboard: “I truly hope that they let her rest and also let our relationship rest. I don’t know anything about the biopic that Clive is doing. But hopefully it won’t dive into our relationship. Hopefully it will be more about the music and not about her personal life.”
Houston was one of the bestselling female singers of all time but her career was marred by reports of drug abuse and her turbulent marriage to Brown.
I Wanna Dance with Somebody features Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker actress Ackie in the lead role as Houston with Stanley Tucci playing Davis and Moonlight star Ashton Sanders playing Brown.
The film is due for release in December and also features Whitney’s sister-in-law Pat Houston among the producers.
Pat previously told The Hollywood Reporter: “All Whitney fans have an appetite for perfection when it comes to Whitney and her legacy. To transform someone into a matchless icon is virtually impossible. But with careful consideration, Naomi Ackie was selected based on her quality performances and her deep commitment to emerging into the woman that we all loved. We look forward to taking this journey with her.”
Sony Pictures bosses describe the film as being “based on the epic life and music of the iconic singer,” adding, “The film will take audiences on an emotional, energetic journey through Houston’s career and music.”
