After first appearing on the Reggae Sumfest stage in 2018, recording artiste D’Yani is gearing up to deliver what he describes as a “sensual performance” on Festival night two, set for the Catherine Hall Entertainment Centre in Montego Bay tonight.

“The first time I performed at Sumfest, I was extremely nervous. It was in the early part, and not many people were there yet, but this time around will be much different as I have a better advantage. More people know my songs now, and I have some more experience,” he explained. “Now my fans can look forward to something vibrant, exciting and really sexy. That’s what I will be bringing during my performance.”

D’Yani, whose real name is Andre McCormack, has sung his way into the hearts of many local and international fans with his mellow vibes and lyrics of love. Tracks such as Feelings, which was later remixed in collaboration with Jada Kingdom; Letter and Heaven Telegram are a few crowd favourites that showcase his singing and songwriting abilities.

While speaking with The Gleaner, he said he has been getting himself ready for the show and is looking forward to getting on stage and delivering his best.

“I have been in rehearsals five days a week [for] up to three hours just putting together the set, checking the sound and making sure that everything will go well on stage. Things are looking wonderful so far,” he said.

For the rest of the year, the Spanish Town native says he will be using his time to continue pursuing his passion.

“I just want to continue making good music and working or getting the work out there locally and even internationally. People can look forward to just more good music and more visualisers. I’m just very happy to be able to do what I love,” D’Yani said.

Also set to hit the stage on Festival night two of Reggae Sumfest are Beres Hammond, Koffee, Dexta Daps, Sizzla and Christopher Martin. The show will also feature the Madhouse Tribute to Dave Kelly by Beenie Man, Bounty Killer, Cham, Wayne Wonder, Frisco Kid, Mr Easy and Spragga Benz.

Yaksta, Nation Boss, Wesroc, Lawgiver the Kingson, Yashaba Frass and Dre Zee are also billed to make appearances.

Performances will be backed by Warrior Love and the Ruff Kutt Band. Boasey Boy Floyd and Richie B will serve as emcees.
