Busy Signal excites audience despite audio issues

Despite some audio issues, reggae-dancehall artiste Busy Signal used his performance at Fireworks on the Waterfront to not only reel off his hits but share his hopes and dreams for Jamaica.
It was 11:59 p.m. when he stepped on stage at the Kingston Waterfront singing Jamaica Love as the fireworks exploded to ring in the Year 2023.
Drones hovered in the sky, while on the ground, cell phones too numerous to count captured the fireworks.
"Everybody who glad fi see 2023 push up oonu hand and go suh!" Busy instructed the crowd before moving into the hugely popular Nah Go a Jail Again.
Battling with technical difficulties on stage, Busy Signal said he felt disrespected because he was the only artiste experiencing sound problems. However he took his fans' advice not to return the disrespect.
It was bare niceness after that as he reeled off hits such as Personally and Bedroom Bully.
He then got real as he hit declared his love for women, "Mother Earth", and called for more love and respect.
"All who seh nuh man nuh fi kill nuh woman put up oonu hand inna di air! All who seh dem fi do summn fi solve crime and violence shub up oonu hand inna di air," Busy told his fans.
One More Night was the most appropriate song at that point, Busy having told the audience how he bawls and begs for forgiveness when he messes up with the women in his life.
He gave a shout-out to his baby mothers as he continued to welcome the New Year with Sweet Love (Night Shift).
Organised by the Urban Development Corporation, the annual and highly anticipated Fireworks on the Waterfront returned on Saturday after a two-year hiatus, and saw hundreds turn out to be a part of the spectacular display. Artistes such as Yaksta, gospel aggregation The Diamond Family, Heavyweight Rockas, Jesse Royal, Etana, Tony Rebel and Kevin Downswell hit the stage.
